I need a website! How do I get started?

  1. The first step in getting started is to drop us an email or call us at 770-256-6637 to schedule a meeting for a FREE Website Development Consultation.

  2. We'll then setup a meeting with you to discuss:
    1. Your business – your history and the products or services you provide your customers
    2. We will discuss your target market(s) – their age, sex, location. What they want from you. What motivates them to make a purchasing decision.
    3. Your competitors and their websites (if known)
    4. How you are unique and better than your competitors.

  3. What are the goals of your website? What problems does it solve? What are the benefits to you and your customers? How are your website goals in line with your overall marketing goals?

  4. Is this a completely new website? Or are we redesigning an existing website?

  5. What type of website is it? Any of these:
    1. Company marketing website
    2. E-commerce
    3. Informational
    4. Community Building
    5. Non-Profit
    6. Arts & Entertainment
    7. Educational Forum
    8. Temporary Special Event
    9. Custom Web Application

  6. We'll choose a domain name and reserve it for you. Here is an article with some free advice on how to select a good domain name.

  7. We'll talk to you about graphic design. How do you want your website to look?
    1. How do you envision it?
    2. What are the primary colors?
    3. Do you have a logo or will you need one developed?
    4. Will you be using original photography or will we provide stock photos? All this takes into account.
    5. Are their any other websites that you like or look similar to what you want?

  8. Will your website require any animation or special effects?

  9. Will your website require a database, any personalization or interactive components? Does your website require any special functionality? If so, please describe how you want it to work.

  10. Will you be providing the website content or do you want us to write it for you?

  11. How will we handle website updates? How often will your website be changing? Do you feel it is necessary to be able to make your own website updates?

  12. Now, lets sketch out a site map to determine the high-level organization of the website. This will be a blueprint that we will stick to when building the site.

  13. What is your timeframe? Are you under a time crunch or have any specific deadlines you are trying to meet?

  14. After all of these questions have been answered, we will have enough information to develop a Website Development Proposal and Estimate that details all the website features including cost and project start and end dates.

  15. Now we the hard part is done. We are ready to get started coding your website!
